We are following along with the prescribed readings of the lectionary. And to it, we add a question of accounting – What is the cost? It's a question we frequent. More so when times are difficult. When resources are scarce. And consequences steep.

It's also a question Jesus poses. Or rather, answers. Often. Even when it's not asked.
